A Burning Smile (part 8)

Jeff POV~
hoody glared at the knife, but masky just raised his hands and answerd my question.
"all i know is he works with our pervious master, slenderman."
i raised my eyebrow, with a low growl. "slenderman?!"
masky notices the way i hiss at the name.
"i take it you have a bad rep with slenderman?"
i nodded my head, and lowerd my knife. aparently masky and hoody where on my side.
"yeah, that dicks been following me everywhere i go. trying to make my life more miserable as it already is. he almsot killed isiss." instictivly, i pulled isiss a bit closer to me.
"well me and hoody," sighed masky. "we used to work for him. bringing him his prey, scouting ahead for any unwanted comany, rounding up humans in the woods for an easy kill, and so on..." masky`s tone was sour, and even though i couldnt see his face, i could tell from the distaste inhis voice that he absolutly hated slenderman now.
the feeling was mutual.
"we ran away," said hoody. "and didnt look back. slenderman liked to take out all his anger, or frustration out on us. it was horrible. the day one of his humans got away, he was so angry..he attack masky and i for no apparent reason....masky got the worst of it..." hoody held a bit of sorrow in his voice. it was as if masky, and hoody were brothers. "i could do nothing while slender hit him....after he got bored of maskys screams of pain, he slitherd off. i dragged masky away, and we ran."
picturing everything hoody said in my mind, i felt a bit of sympathy for them.
slender-dick could get very violent,i knew from experience.
"what now?" i questioned. "do you just wander around saving people?"
masky shook his head. "we do always save people, but we knew rake worked for slender, and we wanted to stop whatever he wanted to do." masky seemed to eye isiss. "i can see why he would go after a human like her."
i growled to myself. these two random guys on the run from slender saved isiss, when i couldnt. shameful.
but i shoudl at least thaqnk them for saveing her.
"well, thanks." i grumbled.
isiss elbowed me sharply in my side.
"thank you." i said a bit louder. a small, smug, smile twitched on isiss` face.

~isiss POV
my throat still felt raw from the smoke.
breath hitched a bit in my throat, but it wasnt too bad.
"so what canyou tell me about rake?" jeff asked masky and hoody.
"not much." sighed masky. "only that hes fast and clever. also, he loves to make his victems suffer before he kills them." masky gave me a glace over. "i think the only reason you survived a fight with him is because he was ordered not to kill you..."
jeff seemed to tense at maskys words.
what i wanted to know, was whio was rake?!
"next time i see that bastard, ill make sure to kill him." snarled jeff. "the only reason he got away was because i got distracted for a second!"
"that`ll do it..." said hoody. "one second of lost concentration could cost you your life. or worse..." hodys head flickered to me. "your mates life."
"im still here you know..."i mutterd. though i was greatful, VERY greatful, i still didnt like people talking to eachother like i wasnt there.
then a thought occured to me.
"wait, you hate slender, jeff and in hate slender,and we`re all running from him. so why not stick togther?"
jeffs head snapped to me. "ummm....no."
masky and hoody looked kind off awkward.
"why not?" i asked.
"well...i dont like anyone else tagging along..." whisperd jeff.
"jeff, a group of 4 offers more protection than a pair of 2." i whisperd back.
jeff seemed to think about it, for a bit.
i knew what was flowing through that mind of his.
if we all stuck togther, it would mean more people to protect ME. and he wouldnt have to leave ma alone and defenseless anymore.
masky and hoody said nothing. i got the idea that it would be better for them as well.
the decion was on jeffs shoulders.
"well..." jeff said."...alright..."
